Billie was found wandering along the side of a busy
highway, heavily pregnant and desperately searching for
food and a safe place to bring her puppies into the world.
She was rescued by Dr. Kristina Mott and the
compassionate team at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic
in Wautoma, where she was given something she had
likely never known before - kindness, safety, and love.
After giving birth, Billie watched each of her seven
puppies find loving homes. Her own journey was just
beginning! Billie became a task-trained service dog and was
matched with a disabled veteran, where she found both a
purpose and a family of her own. Her remarkable story became
the inspiration behind the Waushara County Animal Shelter. Billie
reminded us that every animal deserves a second chance, and her legacy
continues to guide our mission each day! Through the dedication of our volunteers, staff, supporters, and community, we work to ensure that more animals like Billie receive the compassion, care, and opportunity they deserve!!
